Şükrü Taşkıran
Şükrü Taşkıran founded SmokeFreeTracker, designs and builds the Stop Smoking: Quit Tracker app (called Sigaradan Kurtul in Turkish) and writes the articles on this site.
Şükrü Taşkıran is not a doctor, nurse, pharmacist, or licensed counsellor. The articles are written as plain-language summaries of named public-health sources and peer-reviewed research, and every health article lists its sources at the end.
The app
Stop Smoking: Quit Tracker is a free iOS and Android app, available in 12 languages. It shows your smoke-free time, the money you have not spent, and the health milestones you have passed, and it has an SOS flow for the minutes when a craving hits and a journal for spotting the moments that keep getting you. The core features work without an account, and tracking data stays on your phone.
The app is a self-tracking tool, not a treatment. It does not replace a doctor, a quitline, or stop-smoking medication.
How the articles are written
Sources, health wording, corrections, and what this site will and will not do are set out in the editorial policy.
